Concluding a Training Course for Staff at the Women’s Reform and Rehabilitation Center

The Center for Women’s Legal Researches, Counselling and Protection (CWLRCP) concluded a training course targeting the Women’s Reform and Rehabilitation Center, specifically focused on “empowering duty-bearers within the Palestinian police to protect the rights of abused women.”

The training involved 28 participants who were trained over five days, from January 9, 2022, to January 13, 2022, totaling 25 training hours.

The topics covered included: gender-based violence, the level of legal protection, referral pathways in the referral system for shelters, the Hayat Center system for the protection and empowerment of women and families, the unified work procedures manual and case management for service providers for women and girls who are survivors of violence, the social function of law enforcement representatives and the responsibility of the police in protecting abused women, reform and rehabilitation center laws, security force service laws, methods of dealing with female inmates and their families, how to receive and follow up on complaints from female inmates, and developing trainees’ skills in first aid for dealing with female inmates.

This training is part of the project to improve justice sector services for women in the Gaza Strip, which is implemented by the Center with the aim of supporting the development of technical capacities of official actors on a human rights basis, and improving women’s access to justice and protection services.
