Protection and Empowerment Program

This program aims to contribute to protecting women from gender-based violence by empowering them legally, socially, and economically.

Legal Support Department:

This department relies on a team of highly skilled and experienced female and male lawyers to:

  • Provide legal advice to women’s organizations and to women in general.
  • Offer legal assistance to women in matters related to family law, labor rights, and employment issues.
  • Represent women in national courts in cases related to family, labor, and domestic violence.
  • Follow up on the enforcement of court decisions issued in favor of women regarding custody, alimony, financial entitlements resulting from divorce, inheritance, and labor rights.

Protection and Empowerment Department:

The Center for Women’s Legal Research, Counseling and Protection offers services in this department that include protection, shelter, and social, psychological, and economic empowerment, as well as family reunion services at the (Hayat Center for the Protection and Empowerment of Women and Families)

This is a permanent project run by the Center, established in December 2011, as a multi-purpose facility aimed at protecting women from gender-based violence in the Gaza Strip and empowering them to reintegrate into their families and communities.
