CWLRCP Concludes Training for Palestinian Police Investigators

The Center for Women’s Legal Researches, Counselling and Protection (CWLRCP) has concluded two training programs for Palestinian Police investigators on “Empowering Duty Bearers within the Palestinian Police to Protect the Rights of Abused Women.”

Project Coordinator Rana Abu Kamil stated that the training targeted 40 individuals, including 20 female investigators and 20 male investigators. The training spanned five days, totaling 25 training hours per group, with an aggregate of 50 hours for both groups.

The training covered the following topics:

  • The extent of protection for women in the Palestinian Penal Code
  • The extent of protection for women in the Criminal Procedure Law and Penal Conciliation
  • Mechanisms for investigators to handle cases of abused women in normal and emergency circumstances
  • The Juvenile Law and mechanisms for dealing with girls
  • The art of dealing with the public, especially women, in normal and emergency circumstances
  • and body language

These training sessions are part of the project to improve justice sector services for women in the Gaza Strip, implemented by the Center to support the development of the technical capabilities of judicial actors on a human rights basis and to improve women’s access to justice and protection services.

At the end of the training sessions, certificates of appreciation were distributed to all participants in recognition of their efforts and participation during the training days.
