CWLRCP Continues Workshops on Women’s Rights in Gaza

The Center for Women’s Legal Researches, Counselling and Protection (CWLRCP) continues to implement field workshops as part of the project “Promoting Women’s Rights According to the Human Rights Methodology in the Gaza Strip,” funded by the Secretariat of Human Rights and International Humanitarian Law.

The project aims to promote women’s rights and gender equality in the Gaza Strip based on human rights law and international humanitarian law.

Professor Wafaa Helles, the project coordinator, confirmed that a number of field workshops were conducted last week, totaling (17) workshops in the four governorates (North Governorate – Central Governorate – Khan Yunis Governorate – Rafah Governorate).

She indicated that the project plans to implement (60) awareness workshops in the four governorates, targeting (1800) individuals from the targeted groups, to educate them about women’s rights and protection in accordance with international humanitarian law and local laws.

She clarified that the center targets housewives, male heads of households, university students (male and female), graduates (male and female), and working women during these workshops.

It is worth noting that legal consultations are provided, in addition to legal representation before Sharia courts for women, to enhance their access to justice and eliminate violence against women.
