The Center for Women’s Legal Researches, Counselling and Protection (CWLRCP), in cooperation with the Supreme Sharia Judicial Council, concluded a training course for Sharia court officials on issues related to abused women, as part of the project “Improving Justice Sector Services for Abused Women in the Gaza Strip.”
Ms. Zeinab Al-Ghunaimi thanked the Supreme Judicial Council for its efforts to coordinate and provide support for the protection of abused women before the courts, and for the joint coordination to continue holding training courses aimed at developing the capabilities of those working in the Sharia judiciary. She praised the level of interaction, discussion, and recommendations put forward by the participants, stressing the importance of these meetings to converge viewpoints in order to serve the community and abused women in the Gaza Strip.
The training course targeted (19) assistant bailiffs in the Sharia judiciary and process servers from the judicial police, with (20) training hours over four days, covering topics such as gender-based violence, service providers for women and girls who are victims of gender-based violence, interpersonal communication skills in the referral system, referral pathways, enforcement problems, principles of Sharia notifications, and procedural rules according to the Enforcement Law.
