Gaza – December 2020: “Our Rights, Our Dignity – Yes to Enacting a Law Protecting the Family from Violence,” was the slogan of a campaign conducted by The Center for Women’s Legal Researches, Counselling and Protection (CWLRCP). The campaign included introducing the articles of the law and presenting statistics illustrating the rates of domestic violence in Palestine. This campaign is part of the project “Combating the Root Causes of Abused Women in the Gaza Strip,” funded by the Feminist Peace Foundation. The campaign aims to educate citizens about the law, in addition to putting pressure on the Palestinian Authority to expedite the enactment of the law, which would reduce the phenomenon of domestic violence. Domestic violence is considered a precursor to ending the phenomenon of societal violence, promoting civil peace, and providing safety and security for all citizens of the State of Palestine.
