Cognitive Behavioral Program Concludes for Inmates at Gaza Women’s Rehabilitation Center

The Center for Women’s Legal Researches, Counselling and Protection (CWLRCP) concluded the Cognitive Behavioral Guidance Program targeting female inmates at the Women’s Reform and Rehabilitation Center in Gaza, with a recreational day for them at the Blue Beach resort.

The day included a number of entertainment segments and activities, through which the inmates conveyed a message to the community: “No to violence” to which they are exposed, whether inside the Reform and Rehabilitation Center, or even when they leave it. This violence often affects their children and families.

Specialists in the “Hayat” project for the protection and empowerment of women and families designed this special program for the inmates after determining their needs through a preliminary questionnaire. The program consists of 12 group guidance sessions on various topics, to provide psychological support services to the inmates.

This activity is part of the project “A Holistic Approach to Shelter Services for Women Victims and Survivors of Violence in Palestine” in partnership with UN Women, and funded by the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation.
