An official delegation from The Center for Women’s Legal Researches, Counselling and Protection (CWLRCP), represented by Ms. Zeinab Al-Ghunaimi, the Center’s Director, Ms. Tahani Qassem, Coordinator of the “Hayat” Project for the Protection and Empowerment of Women and Families, and Ms. Wafa Hulais, Coordinator of the “Women Forward Forum” Project, met this morning with Dr. Ghazi Hamad, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Social Development in Gaza. During the meeting, emphasis was placed on a number of issues related to joint work between the Center and the Ministry concerning support and protection mechanisms for women and their children.

In a separate meeting, the delegation also met with Major General Mahmoud Salah, Director General of the Police, during which they discussed several issues related to mechanisms for dealing with abused women and children. Ms. Zeinab thanked Major General Salah for his important directives to personnel in various police sectors, especially in police stations, which positively reflects on the important role played by the police in handling women’s complaints.
