Since the declaration of the state of emergency due to the Coronavirus pandemic, The Center for Women’s Legal Researches, Counselling and Protection (CWLRCP) and its “Hayat Center for the Protection and Empowerment of Women and Families” project have provided (370) psychological, social, and legal consultations via telephone since the beginning of the emergency plan in Palestine.
They have also delivered 320 psychological support sessions, of which (260) were conducted at the center, and (80) via telephone, for women and girls who are victims of violence in the Gaza Strip.
During this period, (50) new cases requiring the center’s various services were received, and (22) friendly mediation sessions were conducted to resolve disputes amicably between couples.
Additionally, (5) women benefited from protection services within the center’s shelter, with these cases registered as (temporary shelter) due to the center’s success in resolving their problems within hours through family intervention.
The Family Forum services were followed up to allow children in custody to visit with the non-custodial parent within the center for (11) families, with a total of (11) weekly visitation sessions for (20) children, including (9) males and (11) females.
Furthermore, (10) individual sessions were conducted for children by the child case management, while adhering to safety procedures.
The center published numbers on social media dedicated to receiving consultations and providing urgent psychological, social, and legal support to women and girls through the center’s specialists and lawyers around the clock.
In addition, awareness videos are broadcasted, offering advice and guidance to families on how to deal with children, how to utilize the time family members spend together, and how to reduce the accumulation of disputes and pressures resulting from the home quarantine period.
