The Center for Women’s Legal Researches, Counselling and Protection (CWLRCP) concluded the activities of the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence campaign with a meeting to discuss the importance of passing a family protection law against violence.

This activity falls under the “Your Safety in Your Family” initiative, implemented by the center as part of the project “Combating the Root Causes of Violence against Women in the Gaza Strip,” funded by the Cordaid Foundation (CFD).

Ms. Zeinab Al-Ghoneimi, Director of the Center, welcomed the attendees, including representatives from institutions, youth, and journalists. She emphasized the importance and role of youth in spreading awareness and community education regarding the key women’s issues faced by women. She also praised the efforts made by the young activists during the implementation of the initiatives in the field and their teamwork.

For her part, Ms. Wafaa Hallas, the project coordinator, explained that the event included a theatrical performance highlighting the most important problems and issues of domestic violence in society, in addition to a video presentation on the same topic, and a promo showcasing the activities implemented during the initiatives. She pointed out that certificates of appreciation were distributed by the center’s administration to the young activists in recognition of their efforts during the previous phase and their continuous endeavor to present key women’s issues in their initiatives in a significant and successful manner.
