The Center for Women’s Legal Researches, Counselling and Protection (CWLRCP) concluded its first training session with the Public Prosecution Office, titled “Empowering Duty Bearers in the Public Prosecution Office to Protect the Rights of Abused Women.” This training was part of the project “Improving Justice Sector Services for Women in the Gaza Strip,” which aims to develop the practical skills of service providers for abused women, based on human rights principles.

At the conclusion of the training, the targeted group, consisting of heads, agents, and assistants in the Public Prosecution Office from the five governorates of the Gaza Strip, were thanked. Certificates were distributed by Ms. Islah Hasaniyeh, Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Center, Ms. Zeinab Al-Ghunaimi, Executive Director, and Counselor Hussam Dakka, Head of the Technical Office in the Public Prosecution Office.

Notably, a total of 34 heads, agents, and assistants in the Public Prosecution Office were trained over five days, totaling 25 training hours. The training covered several important topics, including: women’s rights under international conventions and covenants; gender-based violence; the nature of cybercrimes and the hacking of networks and electronic devices that harm women and how to protect them; penal mediation or reconciliation in cases of violence against women; the Family Protection Unit and the National Referral System.

The second training program is scheduled to begin this week, targeting the remaining 34 heads, agents, and assistants in the Public Prosecution Office. With this, the Center will have targeted all employees of the Public Prosecution Office, totaling 68 individuals.
