CWLRCP Concludes Training Program: Empowering Palestinian Police to Protect Women Survivors of Violence

The Center for Women’s Legal Researches, Counselling and Protection (CWLRCP) concluded its training program, “Empowering Duty-Bearers in the Palestinian Police to Protect Abused Women,” across all governorates of the Gaza Strip.

A total of 115 police officers benefited from the program. These included officers who receive complaints from women and investigators, comprising 89 male police officers and 26 female officers from the Women’s Police. The training program covered topics such as:

  • women’s rights according to international agreements and conventions;
  • gender-based violence;
  • the social function of law enforcement representatives;
  • the responsibility of the police in protecting abused women;
  • the Family Protection Unit; and
  • the National Referral System.
