A delegation from The Center for Women’s Legal Researches, Counselling and Protection (CWLRCP) met with Dr. Medhat Mheisen, Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry [of Health], at his office yesterday to discuss avenues for joint cooperation with the Ministry of Health to serve women survivors of violence.

Dr. Mheisen welcomed the CWLRCP delegation, expressing the importance of collaboration with the Center through training staff on protocols for dealing with cases of gender-based violence in the health sector and preparing medico-legal reports to serve women survivors of violence.

Ms. Zeinab Al-Ghunaimi, Director of the Center, expressed appreciation for the positive relationship with the Ministry and the need for continued joint cooperation with the Ministry with the aim of integrating services provided to women survivors of violence, stressing the importance of continuing work in implementing training targeting employees in the Ministry of Health.

Also attending the meeting were Dr. Yahya Khader, Director General of Mental Health, Dr. Maha Al-Amami, Director of Women’s Health, and Mr. Jihad Akasha, Director of the Undersecretary’s Office, from the Ministry of Health, as well as Ms. Wafa Helles, Training Program Coordinator, and Ms. Tahani Qassem, Community Access Coordinator for the Hayat Project, from the CWLRCP.
