The Center for Women’s Legal Researches, Counselling and Protection (CWLRCP), represented by its Director, Professor Zeinab Al-Ghunaimi, participated in the opening of a kitchen and dining hall that were equipped and provided to the Gaza Rehabilitation Center. The opening was attended by Colonel Fouad Abu Buteihan, Director-General of the Directorate of Reform and Rehabilitation; Colonel Iyad Salman, Director of the Gaza Reform and Rehabilitation Center – Ansar; Major Ahmed Matar, Head of Financial and Administrative Affairs at the Reform and Rehabilitation Center; and Major Amal Nofal.
This contribution from the CWLRCP is part of the project “Project to Improve Comprehensive Protection Services for Women and Girls in Conflict-Affected Areas of the Gaza Strip,” in partnership with UN Women and funded by the Government of Japan. Colonel Fouad Abu Buteihan praised the CWLRCP’s efforts in cooperating with the women’s prison administration and serving the inmates. It is worth noting that the CWLRCP, within the framework of joint cooperation between the center and the administration of the Reform and Rehabilitation Center, aims to care for female prisoners, provide them with services, and improve their conditions in line with international standards for human rights and women’s rights. The CWLRCP provides psychological, social, and legal support services to inmates, in addition to meeting their basic needs within the prison whenever possible.
