The Center for Women’s Legal Researches, Counselling and Protection (CWLRCP) is implementing a training program for prosecutors titled “Empowering Duty Bearers in the Public Prosecution for the Rights of Abused Women.” This initiative falls under the project “Enhancing Legal Protection for Women in the Gaza Strip.” Through this project, the Center aims to contribute to the promotion of women’s rights and equality in the Gaza Strip.
Ms. Zeinab Al-Ghunaimi, Director of the Center, welcomed the prosecutors and provided them with an overview of the Center, the services it offers, and the objectives of the training program, which is being conducted in all governorates of the Gaza Strip.
Ms. Lima Diab, the Project Coordinator, noted that the training targets 22 prosecutors from various governorates across the five districts of the Gaza Strip. It comprises nine training days, totaling 27 hours. The training program covers topics such as: women’s rights under international conventions and treaties; gender-based violence; the role of the Public Prosecution in the legal protection of abused and detained women; the responsibility of the Public Prosecution in protecting abused women and survivors; the Family Protection Unit; and the National Referral System.
